(I love those days when I get to snuggle under the covers all day, except I'm usually sick or just exhausted)
We burn calories no matter what we are doing, even when we are asleep. In fact, did you know, people who fidget burn more calories than those who don't fidget, so if your a restless sleeper (moving around a lot, kicking your partner) your BMR will be higher than the number that the calculator spits out.
According to Wikipedia..."The release, and using, of energy in this state is sufficient only for the functioning of the vital organs, the heart, lungs, nervous system, kidneys, liver, intestines, sex organs, muscles and skin."
To calculate you BMR you can go to a number of different sites like this one, plug in your height, weight, age and sex and you will get a rough estimate of your BMR. If you are wanting to lose weight subtract 200-300 calories from that and burn another 200-300 with exercise and you can lose those extra pounds easy peasy. Women should never go below 1200 calories a day and men should never go below 1500. These number are rough estimates and not hard data as everyone is different and there are always some variables to factor in. So click on the BMR link and have fun finding out what your body burns at rest.
Thanks so very much for stopping by to see my A-Z Challenge post of the day. Have a Fantabulous day y'all see ya tomorrow, and don't forget to give your loved ones a hug!
Godspeed...this comes from the Middle English expression "God spede (you)", a wish for success and fortune for one setting out on an enterprise, voyage, adventure, or travels. It may also mean good luck.
