Happy Monday lovely peeps! I hope that your weekend was as good as mine.
My daughter M and I packed up and drove my little green jelly bean over to my mama's house Friday night. After arriving, my mom and I went out to dinner while M opted to stay and relax, she was feeling a bit sick to her stomach. This was my first dinner out with my upper partial and it was a bit hard. I asked for the Gourmet veggie burger with lettuce leaves for the bun. Mistake one, I still cannot eat lettuce. The veggie patty was overcooked, ugh...but it was good and then of course there were the fabulous and salty fries, mistake two. Needless to say I had a stomach ache later on in the evening. It was a nice dinner and my mom and I had a great visit, just the two of us.
Saturday I got up early and went for a short 3.5 mile run. I just missed getting rained on, so the run was under a very cloudy sky, although the sun did manage to peak out once or twice. Later on my mama, M and I headed out for my nieces bridal shower and then back to mama's house for the rest of the weekend. When my daughter and I go over for a girls weekend we usually just hang out, play cards, read, watch television and eat...lol!
I really do wish my mama lived closer, right now it's a 45 minute drive but she will be retiring next year (maybe) so we shall see what happens. Anyway we had a nice relaxing weekend just being together and celebrating our Mother's day. M and I got my mom a beautiful candle holder with three tiers of birds and leaves, we also got her a beautiful glass bird to take to her office.
Sunday was spent driving home and then relaxing for the rest of the day with my family. I did go out and visit my garden to see what new veggies are growing. There are now two zucchini plants coming up and a ton of strawberries. The peppers look awesome and abundant. Our tomato plants are growing like crazy and the chives and coffee mint plant...awesome-sauce. All in all it was a beautiful weekend. Blessings and hugs!
"Limitations only exist if you let them"
Godspeed...this comes from the Middle English expression "God spede (you)", a wish for success and fortune for one setting out on an enterprise, voyage, adventure, or travels. It may also mean good luck.

I love to garden too! But living in Utah, I have the seeds in the ground and I am still waiting for a few things to sprout:) But soon!!! Love the quote on limitations!!! Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteGardening is so relaxing! They will sprout soon I'm sure of it!
DeleteGlad you had a good weekend with your mother and daughter. At least she's not ten hours away.
ReplyDeleteYes Alex, I am glad she is so close, just wish it was in my city...lol
DeleteMy mom lives 20 hours away from me, so I'm a little jealous you can drive and see your mom! I would love to have a garden once I get a bigger house, but I just bought an orchid yesterday, so hopefully I can keep it alive for a while!
ReplyDeleteAw, it's hard being so far away I imagine...I have always lived close-ish to my family!
DeleteNice! I actually got a visit from my parents this weekend too. They drove the 4 hours each way to come see us, my youngest kid is having a birthday next week and they wanted to bring presents. What a fun visit!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful visit Carolina! So glad you came by!
DeleteSounds like a great weekend! Glad you had a good run and were able to spend time with your mom! :0)
ReplyDeleteYes it was a great weekend and the run was nice too!
DeleteSounds like a nice week end. I too love spending time with my daughter, but we don't get to as often as we'd like. Distance, 500 miles makes it very costly and time consuming. By the way, the falling rose petals is very hard on the eyes when trying to read and or type. It might be an age thing, but I wonder if it's bothersome to others beyond myself? Just thought I'd mention it.
ReplyDeleteStill working on visiting everyone from a-z
Thanks so much Sandy for stopping by! I have not had anyone mention it's hard on the eyes but thanks for that!
